Pre-study on better public health in Överkalix

About the project

Results from the national public health survey "Health on equal terms" and public health data from the National Board of Health and Welfare and Statistics Sweden repeatedly show that there is a need for efforts to improve public health. According to the survey "Health on equal terms", both men and women in Överkalix rate their health as worse than the county and the rest of the country. The survey also contains a number of other results that need to be analyzed more closely.

With increased knowledge, the ability of the municipality's various activities and organizations to promote good health among citizens is improved. The feasibility study also provides an opportunity to look at how the municipality can collaborate with Region Norrbotten and other local actors to jointly develop public health in Överkalix.

The project activities consist of surveys and interviews, workshops with lectures, meetings and dialogues with associations and companies, study visits, and review and analysis of data.

Purpose and goals

The purpose of the project/feasibility study is to create a picture of how public health work in Överkalix can best be developed.

The goal of the project is to deliver a feasibility study report that forms a basis for continued public health work in collaboration with other organizations, civil society and the population.
