We want the time and commitment you invest in an application to us to provide good opportunities to get your application approved, so start by contacting us at the development office. We can tell you more about the leader method, criteria for project selection, and what is good to consider when writing an application. The conversation contributes to us jointly refining the idea and finding the core of the project idea that can become a successful leader project.
Four steps to your project
A project is a process in several steps. To begin with, there must be a development idea, something that can be refined and summarized into a concrete project, and a formal project application must be written. Thereafter, the project, if approved, should be implemented according to the conditions and regulations that exist. Finally, the project should be completed and reported.
Step 1
Getting started
Our regular project support is currently closed.

Within Leader Polaris, we manage different types of support for projects, wherea project refers to an initiative to create and develop something new/other, beyond the regular operations within an organization. Projects are characterized by:
- It is time-bound, with a start and end date
(note – the last possible end date is 271231) - There are special personnel working on the project, e.g. a project manager
- It has its own budget
(note – the benchmark for maximum support is 1,800,000 SEK) - There are clear goals and activities that are specific to the project
Common to projects funded by Leader Polaris is that:
- The idea has a bottom-up perspective; it is the residents and those active in an area who best know what they need
- There is collaboration with other actors in the project
- The project's results benefit more than the applying organization (for example, a destination, a community, a broad public, or an industry)
- The project contributes to the goals in our development strategy

Step 2
Writing the application
The next step involves starting to work on the application itself.
Keep in mind that all assessments of a project are based on what is stated in the application. Therefore, be careful to answer all questions asked, and spend time describing the project's implementation.

Step 3
Implement
When you receive your decision from the Swedish Board of Agriculture, it’s time to start the project. Read your decision carefully, including the attached conditions.
Follow the activities and the budget that you have been approved, and above all the project's purpose and goals. If you notice that you need to make changes to the project, you contact the development office. You also make ongoing applications for payment to the Swedish Board of Agriculture, where you report expenses you have incurred and how the project is progressing.
When you run your project, you have an obligation to inform, and it is important that you use the correct logos when you inform about your project. Be attentive so that you gather information for the period 2021-2027.
Step 4
Finish
It is important that you before the project's end date have completed all activities, paid all expenses and made the application for final payment in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's e-service. The Development Office provides you with guidance on how to finalize your project.
