Pre-study of housing and office space in rural areas of Gällivare
About the project
New housing production in rural areas is crucial for the ongoing societal transformation and the green transition of industry, with thousands of new jobs in the area.
Through the feasibility study, the project aims to demonstrate the possibilities and thus facilitate the start-up of new housing production in rural areas. The project will also investigate whether access to office space could make it easier for more people to work in rural areas and avoid commuting to urban areas. Collaborating partners in the project are municipal representatives and representatives from the Gällivare Rural Forum.
The study will be carried out in all six districts in Gällivare municipality and the results will then be compiled in a report. The report will then be used as a basis for negotiations with interested developers and hopefully facilitate the decision-making process regarding new production.
